About nüNERD
nüNERD is building the children's library we wanted and couldn't find: history, philosophy, and classic literature, retold as kids' books at every reading level, so a child can start a big topic as a toddler and grow up ready to read the original. We add to it one topic at a time.

Who makes them
nüNERD is two people, and that’s the whole staff.
Noah Watkins
Noah is a UK-based small business owner and history enthusiast. nüNERD is his passion project. When he couldn't find the books he wanted for his daughter, he started making them himself.
Karen Gregory
Karen spent thirty years in education, first in the classroom, then as a principal and district administrator. She edits every nüNERD manuscript, and she's also Noah's mom.
Two people can make this many books because of how we make them. We’re transparent about that: How we use AI.
The library
Each topic comes as a set of books at different reading levels: ages 0 to 4, 3 to 7 and 6 to 10, and some add a Secret Nerd book for ages 9 to 12 or, for our Plutarch pairs, a prep book for ages 10 to 14. History has wars, plagues and hard endings, and we name them plainly, never gruesomely. Every chapter book carries a content note, so you know what’s inside before you hand it over.
So far we’ve published 14 topics and 49 books, among them Alexander and Caesar, Stoicism and Don Quixote.
We choose a topic by asking two questions. Does it still shape how adults see the world? And is there a way into it for a small child that leads, one book at a time, toward the original? If the answer to both is yes, we build it.
